Excursion 13

Sunday, 22 September 2013

Dear colleagues,

For this training outing for Alba, I have chosen a low altitude place and with a very easy hiking. It is an isolated hill in front of the Jura that people driving along the road to Bellegarde have likely seen at the left side of the Rhone. Here is the proposal:

Date: Sunday, 22 September 2013
Site: Ste. Victoire(934 m)
Classification: Very easy
Altitude: 934 m (highest point)
Climbing up distance: 450 m
Climbing time: 2h30
Total hiking time: 4h30
Starting point: Chevrier (480 m)
Meeting point: My place at 11h00 am
Remarks: Panoramics
Access: Take D884 in direction to Bellegarde. At the height of Collonges after the round about continue straight for 1 km and take the first deviation to the left (road D908) which after another km will connect with road N206. Take the N206 to the left hand side in direction to Chevrier. Drive for about 4 km and then you take road D237 which reaches Chevrier. Park somewhere close to the Church. Driving time from my place: 30 minutes (25 km).

It is convenient to emphasize some useful items: please do not forget to carry on (wear) raincoat, hat/cap and sun glasses, warm gloves, hiking boots or sport-footwear with thick and non-slipping sole, enough food and drinks for the own consumption. Spear dry clothes and after excursion confortable shoes are very convenient.

Have a lovely weekend! Cheers! Jose.
